Trastevere Free Tour!

Our Trastevere Free Walking Tour guides you in the amazing neighbourhood of Trastevere, with more than 2000 years of history and a remarkable amount of unique artworks, history and legends. Follow us around its narrow streets, treasures and amazing churches, without forgetting the food and drinks that make this district unique!

Take a Walk on the other side of Rome and discover the less touristy sites of Trastevere: certainly the most famous district in the world.

Since we believe anyone should appreciate what else Rome has to offer, our tours are for FREE.
At the end of the walk, if you enjoyed it,
you can leave a tip to one of our guides.

First of all the walk begins in the heart of Rome in the middle of its iconic Tiber island, probably the smallest inhabited island in the world.

Our Free Trastevere Itinerary includes amazing masterpieces like the ancient Christian Basilica of Santa Cecilia, one of the district’s most stunning treasures; then it continues among the district’s narrow alleys where you can feel countless centuries of myths and legends. Furthermore, Trastevere’s Free Tour will include also one of the latest artworks of the great architect and sculptor Bernini:”Blessed Ludovica Albertoni” before finally getting to Santa Maria in Trastevere, the oldest church in the world where you will admire its outstanding golden mosaic.

Follow us around this labyrinth of picturesque alleys and as you will discover what makes Trastevere, its inhabitants and its traditions so special and unique.

I’ve been passioned with tour guiding since when, at the age of 7, I started taking tourists around the village where we used to spend the summer. Due to this vocation, between 2007 and 2012 I’ve been organizing tours, trips and excursions around Italy for exchange university students from all over the world. I have two degrees in Medieval and Modern History and I cultivate a big passion for speleology.  I also have a great passion for nature, food and farming: I’m an olive oil producer, a food expert and an olive oil sommelier.

Available for Private tours and usually leading the Trastevere and Saturday tours.

I studied architecture and always had a huge passion and love for Rome. I spent all my life here, reading hundreds of books about its history, legends, artworks, urban development and city evolution. Moreover, I have a huge collection of old pictures of Rome and I love to show them during my tours. I worked as an official guide in Ostia Antica, as a Private tourist driver and also took part to some European Comenius school exchange programs. I’m always happy to show the city to students and foreigners and make them feel and live the true Roman history.

Available for private tours and usually leading the Monday tours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to make a reservation?

No, you just have to be present at 4:00 PM at the meeting point.

What if the weather is bad?

Are you scared of a few drops of rain? We are not. Snow or shine we would be there waiting for you!

Do you stop for any breaks?

There are a couple of places where you can take a seat while listening to our stories, also a couple of taps with drinking water and few options for a toilet. Please let us know if you have to make a stop but keep in mind that we cannot keep the whole group waiting too much.

What if I have to leave before the end?

Do not worry about that. Please just inform us, so we don’t think you got lost or something!

Is the tour suitable for children?

As long as they can keep up with the group they are more than welcome!

Is there gonna be an after party ?

We will be happy to come with you to grab a bite or a drink depending on your preferences if we have time. That’s not part of the official tour, though. However, even if we don’t have the time that particular day, we would be able to recommend the best places!
